Home   /   Bissouma edging closer to Brighton exit

Following months of speculation about his future last summer Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma ended up remaining at the club, but the Mali international is once again being strongly linked with a move away from the Seagulls ahead of the summer transfer window.

A move for the Albion star is looking increasingly likely given that he’ll have just a year left to run on his Brighton contract at the end of the season with no signs to suggest that he’ll sign a new deal at the club.

However, Seagulls fans don’t appear to be overly downbeat despite Bissouma’s likely exit this summer. Speaking ahead of Albion’s shock 4-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday, Brighton fan Josh Draper said it’s “not the end of the world” if Bissouma ends up departing, while fellow season ticket holder Craig Lewington claimed Albion have “got a lot of players who can fill in the role”.

It’s unclear at this stage whether Bissouma will still be a Brighton player at the start of the 2022/23 campaign but with clubs such as Aston Villa and Newcastle United reportedly interested in securing the 25 year olds signature, it appears likely that Graham Potter’s side will have to move on from him ahead of next season.

The Bissouma saga is just one story of what could be a busy summer for Brighton in terms of both incomings and outgoings. All is set be revealed over the course of the coming months.
