“We represent Morocco and Africa and we wanted to show that Africa has increased its level! When you have heart, energy and love, you win games. We are very happy.”

“We played a great game. The players did not give up and they applied our tactics. We knew we had the best goalkeeper in the penalty area. We are making history. I am very happy for Morocco, for our people.”

“Congratulations to all my players. We did our best in the match. We know our fans were celebrating outside, but we haven’t accomplished anything yet. We’ll still celebrate today. Tomorrow we will prepare for the next game.”

When asked if Morocco were playing for the Arab World:

“I am not here to be a politician. We want to fly Africa’s flag high just like Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon. We are here to represent Africa”.
