Lyon will be looking to make it seven games on the bounce without succumbing to defeat, which sees them sitting sixth in the table. Whilst Saint-Etienne, who made a promising start to the season, winning three of their first four, are now suffering their worst start in 12 years, losing their last five and falling down to thirteenth in the table.

Both home sides were victorious in this Ligue 1 fixture last season, with Lyon taking the spoils 2-0 in the teams most recent encounter back in March.

Team News:

Lyon will be without Marcelo after his sending off in last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Lille. His usual centre-back partner Jason Denayer did have some doubts about his fitness but manager Rudi Garcia has confirmed he will be fit for the tie.

Saint-Etienne manager Claude Puel, on the other hand, has quite the headache. Both Yvann Macon and Charles Abi are still sidelined with injury and Arnaud Nordin and Mathieu Debuchy also remain doubtful for the contest. With surmounting pressure on Puel can he galvanise his out of sorts side and slay the mighty lions to pick up what would be a crucial three points.
