James Maddison’s first half brace secured Leicester City’s 4-0 home victory over local rivals Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.

Maddison punished Jesse Lingard’s failed clearance leading to the opener for the home side in the 25th minute. It only took 2 minutes for Harvey Barnes to double the Foxes’ lead with a long-range effort causing the King Power Stadium to erupt.

Maddison proceeded to bag his second of the night with a free kick placed in off the post, wrongfooting a helpless Dean Henderson. Leicester entered the break with a 3-0 lead with Patson Daka scoring the 4th with a flicked finish in the 72nd minute.

Taiwo Awoniyi was denied by the post early in the first half and that’s the closest Nottingham Forest came to finding the net with a rather poor display.

This victory for Leicester is their first of the season but still only takes them to 19th, with the away side bottom of the Premier League with this being their 5th successive defeat.
