Home   /   Leicester breeze past Nottingham Forest in a 4-0 thumping led by James Maddison.

Maddison scores a brace while Harvey Barnes and Patson Daka also find the net against a struggling Forest side on a cold Monday night at The King Power.

The Foxes register their first Premier League win of the season in the East Midlands Derby as speculation continued to pick up surrounding Brendan Rodgers in lead up to this evening.

Maddison was once again the star for Leicester as his deflected shot flew past Dean Henderson to break the deadlock as well as his stunning free-kick that left his fellow Englishman in net rooted to the spot.

Barnes was key to the first-half blitz as he scored just 2 minutes after Maddison’s opener in the 25th minute with a perfectly curled effort that found the bottom right corner in a quick-fire double for The Blues.

Their key man wasn’t satisfied with just the two goals, so set up substitute Patson Daka for his 2nd goal of the season to spice up a rather dull second half. The Zambian fumbled the ball over the line to kill off the game for good in the 73rd minute.

In an uneventful game for Forest, they struggled to create any chances with the best of a bad bunch falling to Nigerian international Taiwo Awoniyi early on in the 23rd minute but it crashed against the post, helping Danny Ward earn his first clean sheet this season.

Both teams now sit at the bottom of table on 4 points, however Leicester leapfrog Forest to steal 19th spot as Steve Cooper’s side boast a -15 goal difference.
