Chelsea stars, Kai Havertz and Mason Mount, are set to leave Chelsea this summer as they’ve seen their careers hit a decline at Stamford Bridge.

It wasn’t all so long ago Mount was playing through Havertz in the Champions League final to win Chelsea their second Champions League. Two years on and they both could be heading for the exit door.

Mason Mount has underperformed massively this season after winning Chelsea’s player of the season two years in a row before this season. Injuries hasn’t helped the Englishmen’s case after being side lined for a number of games due to ‘back problems’.

A poor World Cup from Mount didn’t help his case when he then demanded a new contract in which he wanted to earn £200k a week, which would have been a major increase in his current deal. He felt it would match his importance to the team as well has high profile players like Raheem Sterling who are on a similar deal. For whatever reason Mount’s representatives and Chelsea were unable to agree on a deal… which leads us to this summer where he now has one year left on his contract in which the club could let run down or try and get a respectable transfer fee for him now.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano it is clear that Manchester United are the team in pursuit, but by all accounts the Chelsea board would demand a much higher fee to allow their academy product to depart to such a rival.

Havertz is a very unique player in the sense that after three years being at Chelsea still nobody knows what his best position is. Predominately he’s played as a striker for the West London club yet has merely produced the figures required of a striker for a top side challenging for titles. He can have moments in a game but more often than not over the past 12 months he’s barely affected games and seen them just drift by.

Again reported by Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal are the team showing the most interest however the price tag may put them off with Chelsea hoping for a price in the region of £75 million. Real Madrid were very interested last week but they’re now looking elsewhere especially with the potential of Kylian Mbappe becoming available.

An intriguing summer it looks to be for Chelsea with once players who were so integral to their success only a couple of years ago could be making way.
