Pep Guardiola praised 17-year-old Rico Lewis for following the “intelligent” youngster’s crucial goal as Manchester City beat Sevilla in the Champions League last night.
“In the training sessions we always thought this guy has something special.”
The Catalan Manager also described how the youngster earnt his chance saying “We see him every day. We don’t give presents here. Not just because he is a City fan from the Academy is he going to play. You have to earn it”.
“He’s a special guy, with his work ethic. He reminds me a bit of Gabriel, how aggressive without the ball. He’s played Leicester and today and not easy to find space, he got the reward he deserved.”Embed from Getty Images

Sampaoli showed frustration over the individual errors his side made.
“It’s not the first time that we’ve seen these individual errors, unforced errors and it’s affected the result, we could have had a better result without them”.
