Home   /   France take on Poland in Qatar for last eight berth at 2022 FIFA World Cup

France come in as favourites against Poland in the last 16ย of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.ย

The holders were stunned by Tunisia in their last group game and could face a stiff challenge from the regimented Poles.

France rested most of their starters in their last match and will have a full-strength side heading into this clash.

Kylian Mbappe is currently the joint-top scorer at the tournament in Qatar with three goals to his name and will look to add to that tally.

Poland will be playing in the knockout stages of a World Cup for the first time since 1986. Much of the nationโ€™s hope will rest on the shoulders of striker Robert Lewandowski, who has one goal in the competition thus far.

Polish custodian Wojciech Szczฤ™sny became the first goalkeeper to save two penalty kicks at a single World Cup since Brad Freidel in 2002 and be a major obstacle for the Frenc to overcome.

Les Bleus are hoping to be the first team since Brazil in 1962 to successfully defend their World Cup title and getting past Poland will take them one step closer to that goal.

This is how both sides line up for this match:
