Home   /   FC Barcelona vs Shakhtar Donetsk: Preview

Barcelona looks to secure their third consecutive win in the Champions League Group Stages.

Shakhtar Donetsk look to continue their winning streak after their 3-2 win over Antwerp.

Barcelona have over seven players out of tonight’s squad.

Tonight, Barcelona and Shakhtar meet for the 10th time with their last meeting taking place in 2011 when the Spanish side beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in the second leg of the Champions League quarter final.

Despite their rocky start to the competition, Shakhtar Donetsk look to challenge the dominate Spanish side. With their lack of options on the bench, Shakhtar Donetsk could capitalise on this. The Ukraine side have been involved in high scoring games as of late and with the lack of options Xavi has to play, we could be in for an interesting game.

First choice Barcelona defenders Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will be absent due to injury. Barcelona have over seven players out including Gavi who is currently suspended after picking up a second yellow card in their 1-0 win over Porto. Joao Felix however is expected to start. After joining Barcelona on loan from Atletico Madrid the youngster has proved his worth, scoring two goals in his first Champions League game for Barcelona.

Score prediction – 3-1 to Barcelona
