Home   /   Concussions in Rugby: What Is Being Done?

With a fear of concussions in rugby significantly affecting a player long
term, I investigate this. I spoke to lecturer Dr Thomas Owens from the
University of South Wales about the issue.

Dr Owens is someone that did a PHD in Physiology and he looked into how
concussion effects brain function across the lifespan of contact sports athletes.

In the video there are statistics given on the issue as well as Dr Owens’
thoughts on the matter.

The footage in the video was taken from the 2022 Varsity events at the
University of Brighton campus between the University of Brighton and the University
of Sussex, with action from both the male and female games.
