Preview

Atletico Madrid will face this game wanting to stay leaders of La Liga. Today, a game against Valladolid, a team that doesn´t know defeat for the last three games. Luis Suarez comes back after testing positive in Covid.

Valladolid need a win against Atletico Madrid. After Levante´s win this morning, they seek a victory in order to get out of relegation positions.

Angel Correa has the first chance of the game. The Argentinian cuts in twice and shoots from outside the box. Surprisingly, Jordi Masip doesn´t block the shot and Suarez who is very smart, gets the ball and tries dribbling Masip but the attempt wasn´t the best.

Ruben Alcaraz tries surprising Jan Oblak from a long distance as the keeper wasn´t close to the goal. The shot went wide.

Atletico Madrid and Valladolid are testing each other having both of them a couple of approaches.

Another shot but this time from Oscar Plano. Valladolid are testing Oblak from long distances. They must remember that Atletico Madrid have only conceded twice this season.

Saul delivers a through ball to Lemar who runs down the left wing to then cross it but Masip comes out and blocks it.

Valladolid are standing up to Atletico Madrid. Los pucelanos are pressing high and taking shots from everywhere they can. Very brave from their behalf.

Luis Suárez’s shot from inside the area does not go on target after a cross from Thomas Lemar.

Saul Ñiguez delivered a no-look pass to Suarez who´s touch was not the best. However, the linesman raised his flag.

Vitolo gets a yellow card not for the foul but for the complaint.

The referee adds three more minutes to this first half. Most of it due to the issues with the referee´s earpiece.

Marco André has the last chance of the first half. The player drives forward, takes the shot but Savic blocks the shot and clears it.


HALFTIME

No goals for now in a game where there has not been any clear dominance and even less chances.

Atletico Madrid are not feeling quite comfortable as Valladolid are doing a grear job at defending. A couple of attempts from Correa and Lemar who have been the most active.

Valladolid in change, intend to have the ball and finish their plays as soon as possible. It has not been a bad start for the them and the way they have proposed their game shows how much of a brave team they are.

Suarez tried it from the centre-half but Masip knew how to return in time to the goal and save it without any problem.

Atletico Madrid beat Valladolid as expected. Next week, against rivals Real Madrid which could be a very decisive game.

Good game from Atletico Madrid which played very compacted and again another clean sheet for Oblak who has only conceded twice this season in 10 games.

In reverse, Valladolid remains in the relegation positions despite their great effort in the first half.
