Home   /   AS IT HAPPENED: Feyenoord vs AS Roma

Hello, I am James Butler and I will be providing a running live blog including all the 17:45 UEFA Europa League knockout games. I will be focusing on Feyenoord vs AS Roma whilst also providing updates about what’s happening in the other games. Feyenoord and Roma have a recent European history with the Italian giants beating Feyenoord 1-0 in the inaugural UECL final in 2022, the following season Roma knocked the Dutch side out of the same competition they are playing in tonight 4-2 in aggregate in the Quarter Finals.

Feyenoord will be hoping to get their revenge on a newly resurgent AS Roma who recently appointed club legend Danielle De Rossi as manager.

Roma make five changes to the side that lost to Inter Milan at the weekend as Mile Svilar, Diego Llorente, Leonardo Spinazzola, Edoardo Bove and Nicola Zalewski all coming into the team.
Only one change to the Feyenoord side which beat Sparta Rotterdam 2-0 on Sunday, with Bart Nieuwkoop replacing Lutsharel Geertruida.

The 17:45 halftime scores are as follows.

As we approach the start of the second half, will Roma dig deep and find a way back? Or will Feyenoord cruise towards a first-leg advantage to take to the Italian capital?

FULL TIME! It ends level here at the De Kuip after an entertaining and end-to-end game which saw Feyenoord take the lead through a Paixao header on the stroke of half time after having the better chances. Roma came flying out of the traps in the second half and Lukaku’s equaliser was the least they deserved for their efforts, but it ends all square going back to the Stadio Olimpico with it being 1-1 and all to play for.

It ended elsewhere:
