Chelsea stormed to victory yesterday as goals from Fran Kirby and Sam Kerr saw them coast past Arsenal in yesterday’s Women’s FA Cup Final.

Emma Hayes’s side netted three minutes in and then a second-half brace from Sam Kerr saw the game out for Chelsea and helped them secure a domestic treble for the 2020/21 season.

Today on Overtime, we’re going to be walking you through the game via the social media reaction on cup final day at Wembley.

Highlights from yesterday’s game as red-hot Chelsea smashed sloppy Arsenal in a cup final dominated by Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby.

It only took three minutes for Chelsea to find the net, and it came through Fran Kirby’s brilliant finish past Zinsberger.

Hardly a surprise, she’s one of Chelsea’s most potent forwards and is always a threat to any side.

Arsenal Women journalist Josh Bunting felt the game was there to be won by Chelsea before the interval.

Chelsea undoubtedly exposed Arsenal’s frailties early on, and that continued for the majority of the game.

There were calls for handball from Arsenal near to half-time, and with Arsenal growing into the game, should they have had a penalty? Would it have changed the way the game panned out?

Arsenal were sloppy in the first half, a shadow of their usual selves and have been kept in the game by Manuela Zinsberger.
Former Team GB Hockey player Sam Quek believes the women’s game needs and deserves Video Assistant Referees.

And Chelsea definitely could have been three or four up by half time and put the game to bed early on.

VAR is always a hot topic for conversation. Should women’s football have it instated?

Sam Kerr and Fran Kirby were all the rave when Chelsea doubled their lead, with the two linking up to catch Arsenal out on the counter.
Kerr doubled her tally 20 minutes later, with a brilliantly executed chip, and needless to say it was filth!

Kerr and Kirby ran Arsenal ragged on the day, and were thorns in their side all game!

I think Emma Hayes enjoyed that one!
An incredible turnout, with an attendance of 40, 942 people coming out to see yesterday’s game.
Chelsea’s win yesterday made Emma Hayes a record breaker, becoming the first female manager in history to win three FA Cups. What an impressive achievement, and what an incredible manager she is.
The day ended with Chelsea lifting the FA Cup to complete their domestic treble, after a superb performance at Wembley.

That’s all from Overtime’s coverage of the social media reaction from Chelsea’s FA Cup victory yesterday.

Thanks for tuning in, and hopefully we’ll see you again soon.
