Encanto

Release Date: 24th November 2021

Walt Disney Animation Studios produce their 60th film directed by Oscar winning directors Jared BushByron Howard, and Charise Castro Smith featuring original songs by Lin Manuel Miranda, most known for his successful musical ‘Hamilton.’ The musical adventure takes place in a fantasy style of Colombia, in the hidden mountains where a young girl, Mirabel Madrigal voiced by ‘Brooklyn Nine Nine’star, Stephanie Beatriz faces the struggles of being the only one in her family without magical powers, feeling like an outsider. However, she must go on a journey and save her family when the magic is on the verge of disappearing.

King Richard 

Release date: 19th November 2021

In this inspiring Sport Biography directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, we discover how sisters Serena and Venus Williams escape from their dangerous background in ComptonCalifornia and became the tennis superstars they are today. This is due to their intense coaching and parenting from their determined father Richard, played in this film by Will SmithRichard deals with lots of racism and is willing to do anything to make his daughters dreams come true, so they can dominate the tennis world. Smith takes the spotlight in this biopic, and is expected to receive another Oscar nomination since his last in 2006 for his emotional performance in, ‘The Pursuit of Happiness’

House of Gucci

Inspired by the true story of Gucci, this film shows the famous fashion family, and how they deal with money, power, betrayal, scandals, and the murder of fashion designer Guccio Gucci’s grandson Maurizio GucciSir Ridley Scott, who has directed a variety of genres, directs this drama packed crime thriller with an A-list, award winning cast staring Lady GagaAdam DriverJared LetoSalma HayekAl Pacino, and Jeremy Irons

C’mon C’mon 

Release date: 3rd December 2021

This Black and White drama is directed and written by the Academy Award Nominee Mike Mills who returns with another heartfelt story. The 2020 Oscar winning actor Joaquin Phoenix plays Johnny, a single New York radio journalist travelling through America interviewing teenagers on what they think of their future. Johnny has badly fallen out with his sister, played by Gaby Hoffman, after their mother’s death, however, Johnny ends up looking after his young nephew, played by Woody Norman, with no experience of looking after children, creating an unexpected bond.

Spider-Man: No Way Home

Release Date: 17th December 2021

The Marvel Cinematic Universe produce their third Spiderman film full of action and adventure. Peter Parker (Tom Holland) must learn to deal with his secret identity no longer being secret after his Spiderman identity was revealed at the end of the last film, and how it will affect his best friend Ned, played by Jacob Batalon, and his girlfriend MJ, played by ZendeyaParker turns to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help, causing events to take a turn for the worse, and a multi-verse of madness is created with villains from older spiderman films returning to create chaos for the current embodiment of Peter Parker.

The Kings Man

Release Date: 22 December 2021

The final instalment of the Kings Man trilogy arrives at cinemas in December, taking audiences back to the beginning of the secret service during the second world war. Staring Colin FirthGemma Arterton and Ralph Finennes as their big named stars and with Matthew Vaughn directing again. This film is certainly not one to miss if you enjoyed the first two Kingsman films.
