Preview

Tonight Switzerland and Spain will face each other In the UEFA Nations League. Both teams need the win.

Home team Switzerland are bottom of the group with only two points and a win will give then some hope to not get relegated.

In their last game in the Nations League, they drew against Germany in a game where they took the lead twice. And in their last friendly game, they lost 2-1 against Belgium.

Switzerland opponents, Spain, have seven points, one more than Germany do and a win will mean that when they face each other in three days time, Spain will start the game as the leader of the group.

Spain’s last Nations League match was a loss against Ukraine. A poor performance which could have cost the first place of the table.

Three days ago, Spain drew against Netherlands in an intense game where either team could’ve won.

Last time they faced Spain beat Switzerland by 1-0.

Mikel Oyarzabal delivers the ball to Olmo who then backheels to Torres and gives it a shot from the edge of the box but goes over the bar.

Breel Embolo stole the ball from a bad pass from Fabian and then delivers the ball to Xherdan Shaqiri who shoots without an angle but gets a corner from it.

Oyarzabal crosses the ball which ends up in Yann Sommer hands but does not catch the ball properly and it was very close to going in.

Before Freuler´s goal, Spain had the ball and the control. However, since they scored, they have created more chances than Spain.

Ruiz dribbles through two players and gives it a try from outside the box but Sommer clears it.

Seems like Sergio Busquets is injured.

He has hurt his knee in a challenge against Embolo.

Switzerland is winning with a goal from Freuler.

Spain started the game very well but Switzerland managed to score when Spain were playing at their best.

Luis Enrique’s team have had their chances but they have not been able to score once.

Switzerland right now are last in the table but only two points behind Spain whilst the Spanish team have seven points, two points behind Germany who are winning their game against Ukraine.

Manuel Akanji gets to Torres’ cross before Oyarzabal does and clears it to the corner.

Despite Spain losing, they are not in a rush and keep playing at their pace.

Simon missed the ball and Haris Seferović cuts inside and takes a shot but Sergio Ramos was there to clear it off the line.

Alvaro Morata comes on to help Spain score a goal with Ruiz the chosen one to leave the pitch.

Olmo takes the corner and Ramos heads the ball which Rodriguez who is facing backwards handballs.

Embolo was ready to go on a one on one against Simon but Torres slide tackled Embolo and clears the ball.

The linesmen raises his flag just when Embolo was going alone against Simon.

The game ends in a draw which does not benefit either teams.

Ramos missing two penalties means they lose the opportunity to win the game.

Spain will have to win against Germany in three days time if they want to qualify for the knockout rounds.

On the other hand, Switzerland gets a point which is helpful but not enough to be close to overtake Ukraine.
