Super-sub Ryan Hardie’s brace gave Plymouth Argyle the 4-2 league win over Exeter City at Home Park, continuing their winning run at home.

Plymouth looked to put a foothold in the game before Exeter took the lead in the game through a counter attack from a Plymouth corner. Jay Stansfield broke down the left channel after regaining possession from Bali Mumba, beating him 1v1 on the edge of the box and played a forward ball across the box to the onrushing Archie Collins.

An instant response from Plymouth as Morgan Whittaker equalised sharply. Adam Randell whipped an in-swinging cross in, Whittaker took a touch to open his body and drill it in the bottom right corner across Jamal Blackman.

Exeter again took the lead as Stansfield played a through ball to Sam Nombe who made a run off of Dan Scarr and tapped the ball home after taking the ball around Michael Cooper.

Plymouth equalised again six minutes later in the 58th minute through a Bali Mumba strike from 30 yards out drilled into the bottom left corner following a Plymouth corner.

Ryan Hardie was introduced as a substitute for Plymouth in the 62nd minute and he made a quick impact with a brace that won the game for Plymouth with goals in the 70th and 84th minute.

The win takes Plymouth four points clear at the top of League one and the winning run at Home Park continues for the Pilgrims.
