In preparation for their upcoming UEFA Nation League matches, tonight at 19.45 at the Johan Cruyff Arena, the Netherlands will face Spain on a friendly game.

Netherlands have not won yet under their new coach, Frank de Boer.

De Boer will have to win the game without his best defender, Virgil Van Dijk. However, he has called Davy Klaassen, Tonny Vilhena and Patrick Van Aanholt.

On the other hand, Spain come from a loss against Ukraine.

They are ready to redeem themselves against one of the best European national teams.

Luis Enrique has called up new players such as Marcos Llorente, Hector Bellerin and Alvaro Morata.

With the Nation League coming up it might be an opportunity for those who do not make it to the starting lineup.

Carlos Acosta will join you during the broadcast of the match.




The referee flips the coin and it will be the Netherlands who have the first possession of the game



Morata has the first shot of the game, but it gets deflected and goes to the corner.


Nathan Ake can not continue the game. The Dutch player gets injured when passing back to Marco Bizot.

It seems like a muscular injury.


Ake leaves the pitch and Daley Blind will replace him.

Sergio Canales drives the ball and gives a through ball to Gerard Moreno whose shot goes over the bar.


Spain have control of the game creating most of the chances, playing it from the keeper even despite the really risky due to the good pressure from the Dutch.


Canales scores the first goal of the game!

Morata and Canales exchange roles. Morata drives the ball and gives a through ball which gets to Canales and shoots at Bizot’s far post making it impossible for him to reach.

First shot from Netherlands. Luuk de Jong takes a shot but not good enough to create problems to Unai Simon.


Spain has never won in the Netherlands with four games played and our games lost.


Hans Hateboer and Jose Gaya try heading the ball but head each other.

Gaya’s head is bleeding at the moment.

Sergio Reguilon warms up and will be the first substitution for Spain.


Gaya has to leave the game after that harsh clash with Hateboer.

Canales stops on the edge of the box and waits for Morata to arrive who smacks the ball and makes Bizot stretch.


The way the Netherlands are pressuring is unbelievable.

Surely they will get tired quicker than the Spanish team at this rate.


Spain has failed to score on a two on three

Morata fails to dribble past Joel Veltman who intercepts fantastically.


It’s now Marco Asensio who does not make the right pass.

The Spanish player could have taken the shot but instead, he gave the pass to his opponents.


Two more minutes of stoppage time.


Spain has the lead at half-time thanks to a goal from Canales.

Spain has proposed the game better and has gone for all, they have created the majority of occasions, they have had possession, they have won the individual plays.

De Boer will go hard in the dressing rooms if he wants to win his first game.

Frankie De Jong – Stefan de Vrij

Georginio Wijnaldum – Klaassen

Steven Berghuis – Calvin Stengs

De Boer has made five out of the six possible substitutions.


Van de Beek equalises the game!

A cross from Stengs which goes through many defenders who are not able to get the ball and Van de Beek smashes the ball into the net.



Yellow card shown to Reguilon after fouling Dumfries.


Morata gives a through ball to Asensio but de Vrij smartly intercepts the ball and clears it.


The Dutch team have started the second half more aggressively than their Spanish counterparts which has led them to a goal.


What a block from Dumfries!

Asensio took too long a when he took the shoot, Dumfries appeared and blocked the shot with his body.


Koke won’t get any chance clearer than this one!

Moreno chips the ball over the Dutch defence to Koke who tries to volley it but unfortunately, his shot goes over the bar.

Asensio – Adama Traore

Traore gives it a try and shoots from the edge of the box.

Bizot blocks the ball with ease.


Oustanding save from Simon!

Dumfries delivers the ball to Memphis Depay who shoots to the keeper’s near post but Simon manages to save the ball even though he was wrongfooted.

Depay had plenty of time to make the best decision yet could not score to take the lead.

Debut for Marcos Llorente who replaces Canales.


Depay does not give up and keeps shooting.

Soft shot which does not require much effort from Simon to block the ball.


Depay will leave the game without a goal.

Ryan Babel enters the pitch and will play ten minutes.

Rodri is close to scoring the second goal after a great header which skims the crossbar.


Olmo receives a yellow card after stopping Dumfries from making the run which would have led to a one on one.


Iñigo Martínez goes out and Sergio Ramos comes in.
