Home   /   Match Preview: Salford City vs. Crawley Town – Can Reds end Ammies’ unbeaten run?

With the two teams hoping to make a late surge for the League Two playoffs, Tuesday night’s encounter promises to be an enthralling one as Crawley Town makes the trip to face Salford City at the Peninsula Stadium.

The sides are currently separated by just one place in the table with Salford in 11th and Crawley in 12th, and each club heads into the match on the back of consecutive wins.

With only 12 points separating them and the playoffs, the Red Devils have the belief they can close the gap on the play-off positions, and with a game in hand on many of those above them, there is an added confidence amongst the West Sussex based outfit that they can sneak into one of the playoff positions in their quest for promotion.

After a period of four fixtures without three points, Crawley got back to winning ways recently with a narrow victory against Rochdale on Saturday by a goal to nil courtesy of Ashley Nadesan’s strike, and they now head into Tuesday on the back of consecutive victories.

However, The Ammies are currently undefeated in their previous nine outings including a fought back from behind on Saturday as they defeated Walsall 2-1 courtesy of goals from Matt Smith and Ryan Watson, and with games in hand on those above them, they will have no shortage of confidence that reaching the playoffs is an attainable target.
