Manchester United take on Atletico Madrid in Champions League round of 16 second leg in what potentially is their biggest game of the season.

Both teams will come on the back of a victory in their respective leagues at the weekend.

The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw at Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, but there is no away goal rule in the Champions League this season, much to the dismay of United.

Atletico hasn’t kept a clean sheet in any of their eight away games against English sides in this competition.

Against Spanish opponents, United have only won two of their last eight home games in the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid will vary of Cristiano Ronaldo’s threat who has scored 13 goals in his last 15 home games against this opposition, including two hat-tricks.

Cristiano Ronaldo has netted in both the home games he has played in this season’s competition.

Bruno Fernandes has provided six assists in this season’s competition so far, which is the most by any player this season. Only three United players have ever provided more in a single campaign, with David Beckham (8), Dwight Yorke (7) and Ryan Giggs (7).

Anthony Elanga, 19, scored the equaliser for United in the away game. The only other teenager to score in both the legs of this competition is Kylian Mbappe.

Luke Shaw is the only injury concern for United coming into this tie. Atletico will miss Yannick Carrasco through suspension who joins Sime Vrsaljko, Thomas Lemar, Matheus Cunha and Daniel Wass who are all out injured.
