Manchester United host Spanish champions Atletico Madrid for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 matchup following a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The Red Devils responded to derby day disappointment at rivals Man City by beating top four rivals Tottenham 3-2.

Ronaldo returned to the starting line-up to score a stunning hattrick and will be hoping to inflict more pain on a side he tormented frequently in a Real Madrid shirt.

Atletico come into this one off the back of four league wins a row but are in the midst of a poor season sitting 15 points behind league leaders Real Madrid. They will feel they had the better of the first leg, spurning multiple chances before United’s late equaliser.

Players to Watch

Manchester United | Anthony Elanga

United can boast an array of talent and superstars including the likes of Ronaldo, Varane and Bruno Fernandes. However, after his equaliser in Madrid and promising season so far, academy graduate Anthony Elanga could be the hero once more.

The Swede has blistering pace and an eye for goal, having notched three senior goals in what is turning out to be his breakthrough year.

Atletico Madrid | Jan Oblak

The Slovenian stopper has been considered one of the world’s best in his position for the last five years, but his form has dipped sharply in this campaign. If Oblak performs at his best, he could be the difference for his side, a continuation of his decline, however, could be United’s key to defeating the Spanish outfit.
