Manchester United and Real Sociedad to go head-to-head at the Europa League to decide who will be group winner at the Reale Arena.

Sociedad had nicked a lone goal win at Old Trafford in September with a Brais Mendez’s penalty. A decision mostly United fans termed controversial. This result sets a cloud over this final-day fixture as both teams attempt to avoid an extra round of games in their quest to win a continental trophy.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag had confirmed in the pre-game conference that his forwards, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Martial would be absent at the game today with each at a different rehabilitation stage.

“Luckily, also Aaron Wan-Bissaka is back in the squad, so we have replacements, he added.

The manager also stated that Ronaldo is a strong option to lead the attack.

Real Sociedad manager Imanol Alguacil speaking at his press conference ahead of the game today said he is equally as passionate about holding onto first place for a relatively easier run in the competition.“If we win, I will be very happy, if we draw too and if we lose by more than two goals, I will be very angry” he added.
