Klopp claims losing Fabinho was the last thing Liverpool needed.

Fabinho and Jordan Henderson were casualties in Liverpool’s 2-0 win over Midtjylland in the Champions League. Having already lost Virgil Van Dijk to a knee injury against Everton, Jurgen Klopp fears how The Reds will go forward if Fabinho’s hamstring injury is serious.

“It was exactly the last thing we needed. what can I say? I don’t know, I know he felt his hamstring and that’s not good. He didn’t feel it that much he said he could have played on but no sprints anymore so that doesn’t help in that position obviously. we will see, we have to make a scan to know more but of course it’s not good.”

Klopp was impressed with 19 year old Rhys Williams who replaced Fabinho at centre back in the first half.

“Losing Fabinho in the first half, Rhys Williams coming on at 19 years old and now has more Champions League games than Premier League games, I think that’s pretty rare. Doing really well, but it’s a shock for the team because nobody knows how will the nerves be of Rhys but they were fine so that was good.”
