Osasuna 1-1 Huesca:

Osasuna had a slow start to the game however, they woke up in the second half thanks to an incredible header from David Garcia. A win would´ve been the best knowing that next week they will be facing FC Barcelona.

Osasuna are currently 13th in the table, four points ahead from relegation yet can´t sit back as two bad games will put them in danger.

Huesca are in a need of more points. They have tied seven out of the ten games they have played this season. Michel´s teams started really well the first half and scored in the first five minutes of the game. However, they keep falling apart in the second half conceding once again goal from a set piece increasing the goals conceded from set piece to a 50%.

Huesca need to work in their set pieces and of course some luck. They are currently in relegation positions, two points away from safety and will face Sevilla next week.

Levante 1-1 Elche:

Both one and another can not be proud with the score. The point gained has more value for Elche than to Levante. The Valencian derby concluded with one all after a disputed match.

This is not good enough for Levante who are having difficulties to win. Only one win in seven games. Surprisingly, they are performing well yet not lucky enough to come victorious as they have been ahead on the scoreboard on four of the seven games they have played.

Elche on the other hand after the draw, they are standing 9th in the table only one point behind Sevilla who occupies the last Europa League position. They could have beaten Levante in the second half due to the many chances they had during this period of the game.

Will Levante end their winless run against Valladolid?

Villarreal 1-1 Real Madrid

Real Madrid faced this game without some of their key players (Ramos, Casemiro, Valverde…) and an unexpected player for Madrid saved the day. That is Mariano, who scored a header in the second minute of the game.

The game had the same scenario occurred as in the previous matches. Zidane´s team scored in the first half and controlled the first half as they wanted and Villarreal scored and dominated in the second half. Both teams were fighting for the third place in the league and Villarreal achieved to defend their position and keep it for at least one more week.

Next Sunday, Emery´s team could drop positions as they will play against Real Sociedad who are leading the table whilst Real Madrid should get those three points as they will play against Alavés.

Sevilla 4-2 Celta

Whilst Sevilla celebrates the win, Celta keep drowning and are league bottoms.

Despite the win, Sevilla suffered more than they should´ve including being behind the scoreboard for more than 10 minutes. Either team had their chances to win but Sevilla made better use of their opportunities. Sevilla have now entered the Europa League positions due to their two wins in a row.

Celta in the meantime sacked their manager two weeks ago however they haven´t won a game with their new manager, Coudet. Next week they will have a good chance to get their first win against Granada, a team which doesn´t know victory on November.

Atlético Madrid 1-0 Barcelona

The biggest game of the weekend. Top contenders to win the league.

Atlético Madrid emerged victorious in the clash between the two teams. Barcelona barely had chances to dispute the game and a solo goal from Carrasco gives the win to the colchoneros.  A mistake from Ter Stegen propitiate to Carrasco score an open goal.

It is the first time Simeone has beaten Barcelona in the league and due to that win Atletico Madrid are second in the league behind Real Sociedad but with a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Barcelona are not going through their best moment. Koeman has been able to win one out of their last five games showing a bad performance as if players were not motivated anymore. Messi is not the same, Griezmann is not happy at Barcelona. Moreover, Pique is out for the rest of the season due to an injury.

Eibar 0-0 Getafe

The only goalless game in the weekend. Deceptive 0-0 in Ipurua, where we have seen a good game, with a stellar Bryan Gil, and good feelings for Eibar despite the fact that they still have not won at home. The best news for Getafe is that David Soria again left a clean sheet after several weeks without doing so.

Cádiz 0-1 Real Sociedad

Another outstanding performance from Real Sociedad which are at the moment top of the league.

David Silva is like fine wine, the older he gets, the better he plays. It took 66 minutes to take down Cadiz´s wall thanks to an Isak goal. In order to keep their first place, they will have next weekend a challenging game against Villarreal.

On the other hand, Cádiz faced this game with many injuries tried to resist the constant attacks from their opponents. Although they have lost 40% of their games this season, their performance has been exceptional as they stand 5th in the table only three points behind Cadiz.

Granada 1-3 Valladolid

Valladolid are surely delighted with their team’s performance against a team who plays to fight for Europa League places. Valladolid was better in Los Cármenes clinging to an orderly defense and its attack.

The presence of Marcos André, scorer of the second goal, and the work of Sergi Guardiola, Oscar Plano’s assistant in both, punished a dominating but shallow Granada. Diego Martínez’s men got into the game from set pieces but an error by Luis Milla, which Jota took advantage of, confirmed Sergio’s second victory in this league. Three points that take him out of relegation and that represent Granada’s first defeat at home this season.

Extremely important win against Granada which leads them to exit the relegation positions.

Alavés 2-2 Valencia

When Alavés scored their second goal of the game in just 16 minutes, no one would´ve expected Valencia to comeback.

Valencia pulled back the score in just five minutes as Alavés could not believe what they were saying. Alavés dropped down so much their intensity that Gameiro had chances to even take the lead.

A win for Alavés would´ve driven them up close to the Europa League yet are now three points above relegation.

Athletic Bilbao 4-0 Betis

Massive win from Bilbao who gave no chances to Betis to win.

Before yesterday´s game, everyone thought it was going to be a tight game due as both teams had the most loses in this season with a total of five loses in 10 games.

However, Garitano won his personal game against Pellegrini as he knew how to play against Betis. The Basque manager was packing up just in case Athletic lost as his job was in the ropes.

Will Betis redeem themselves against Eibar next week?
