Iran look forward to making history through a win in the match that is surrounded by political stuff. In the final round of World Cup group stage, Iran take on the United States at Al-Thumama stadium at 19.00pm in the UK time. Having different conditions in the group table after two fixtures, the two sides look at tonight clash from different perspectives. For the USMNT, this would be a must-win game as any result other than beating Iran will send them back home. On the other side, if Iran win, they will secure their place at the knockout stage. Nevertheless, they could still advance to the round of 16 with a draw, if Wales do not defeat England in the other match of the group B.

This is the second time these two nations face each other at the World Cup. The first occasion took place 24 years ago, when Iran beat USA 2-1 at the 1998 World Cup in France.

Good news for Iran is about their goal keeper Alireza Beiranvand who is ready to start tonight game after missing the second match due to the injury he had sustained during their opener against England.
