Home   /   France take on Tunisia in Qatar with one eye on 2022 FIFA World Cup knockout stages

France faces Tunisia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar with a chance to top their group with a 100%-win record in their sights.

Didier Deschamps’ side became the first team to book their place in the last 16 of this year’s tournament following their 2-1 over Denmark.

This could mean a rest for some of the regular starters in the squad as Deschamps rotates the line-up with one eye on the knockout stages.

It will not be a surprise if players like Matteo Guendouzi, Eduardo Camavinga, and Jordan Veretout start for France this time around.

Les Bleus impressed in the opening two games, scoring six goals and conceding only two this far. Kylian Mbappe is France’s leading scorer with three goals, followed by Olivier Giroud with two.

In comparison, Tunisia is at the bottom of the group and is yet to score in this year’s competition. The Carthage Eagles need to win their game and hope for a favourable result in the game between Australia and Denmark.

If they top their group, France can expect to play the runners-up from Group C in their next game.

Here’s how the two teams line up for this clash:
