FC United Of Manchester of the Northern Premier League host League One side Doncaster Rovers in the First Round of the FA Cup. The game will take place at FC United Of Manchester’s five-year-old home, Broadhurst Park. The non-league side will be looking to advance to the second round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2010-11. While Doncaster will be looking to do better than their second round exit last season where they lost 3-0 to Gillingham. Cameron Owens will take you through the action.

LINEUPS

1: Doncaster will kick us off here today. Kicking from right to left.

4: Doncaster have been the better side so far and have been able to keep most of the possession. FC United manage to win a free-kick after a foul by Josh Sims on Donohue.

6: Good chance for Doncaster as they have free-kick in a dangerous position on the edge of the box after Potts fouled Josh Sims. Ben Whiteman’s free-kick is deflected off the wall for a corner, it leads to nothing.

10: Doncaster keeping the ball nicely on the edge of the FC United box, Coppinger plays a good ball through the heart of the FC United midfield to Sims. The winger then tries to release Ed Williams in behind but the ball runs out of play.

12: Josh Sims, who has been Doncaster’s brightest player so far, gets the ball on the edge of the box and lays it back to Coppinger who lets fly and forces a good save from Dan Lavercombe.

14: GOAL!! Coppinger wins the ball back in the midfield and plays it to Matt Smith. The midfielder then turns and slots it through to Brad Halliday. The full-back has time and space as he charges forward goal squares it across goal to Feji Okenabirhie who has the simplest task of all as he taps it into the empty net. 0-1 Doncaster!

19: The game has slowed down in intensity since the goal, Doncaster are still keeping the ball comfortably with FC United struggling to create anything when they do manage to win it back.

22: GOAL! Doncaster score their second as Brad Halliday plays a ball forward to Okenabirhie. He was in an offside position but he lets it run through his legs to Ben Whiteman, who was onside. Whiteman has plenty of space and time to set himself as he slides it past the helpless Lavercombe. 0-2 Doncaster!

25: Chance! It could have been three for Doncaster! Smith has the ball on the edge of the box and plays a clever pass into Okenabirhie, he lets the ball run before firing a fierce strike at goal which flies just over the bar. It was a good chance and FC United are very lucky it’s not three.

29: Donohue advances with the ball for FC United Of Manchester but he can’t break through the strong Doncaster defence. The 97 league positions between the two teams is starting to show here as the Rovers are really asserting their dominance in this tie.

31: GOAL! FC United of Manchester pull one back! Doncaster have a corner which is cleared easily, but only as far as Reece James. The full-back’s touch is poor and he is made to pay as Regan Linney pinches possession from him and charges towards goal before slipping the ball underneath Louis Jones in the Doncaster net. 1-2!

33: GOAL! Doncaster regain their two goal advantage through Josh Sims. The Southampton loanee is released down the left and he runs at the defence before cutting in and shooting. His shot takes a big deflection off Chris Doyle and Lavercombe couldn’t keep it out. 1-3 Doncaster!

36: Regan Linney releases Donohue down the left for FC United but his attempted cross into the box is blocked by Halliday. FC United are starting to see more of the ball in this contest.

39: A lovely turn from Griffiths gets FC United out of trouble as they look to build an attack. It is snuffed out by Tom Anderson in the Doncaster defence.

42: GOAL! James Coppinger gets a fourth for Donny! Halliday once again is in so much space down the right as he is released by Smith, he puts in a cross towards the backpost to Whiteman who chests it down to Coppinger. Coppinger shoots from the edge of the box and his shot takes a wicked deflection and beats Lavercombe. 1-4!

45: There will be 2 minutes of additional time at the end of the first half.

HALFTIME: FC United Of Manchester 1-4 Doncaster Rovers

46: Reece James gets in behind the defence, after Donohue mistimes his headed clearance, but he flashes his shot wide of the goal.

49: GOAL! Lavercombe scuffs his clearance straight to Smith. The midfielder plays the ball out to Josh Sims who cuts the ball on to his right foot and shoots. The shot itself isn’t a great one but it again takes a deflection, this time off Jones, and goes in off the underside of the crossbar for his second of the game. 1-5 Doncaster!

54: Williams advances with the ball and plays it out wide to James Coppinger. He brings the ball inside onto his left and tries to slip in Josh Sims, but his pass runs through to the keeper.

56: SUBS:

62: CHANCE! Lavercombe produces a great save down to his left to deny Okenabirhie.

64: A fantastic ball is whipped into the box and Regan Linney is inches away from turning it in but he just can’t reach it.

67: A deep cross is delivered into the box by Sims and it falls to Tom Anderson who heads wide.

69: Doncaster are knocking the ball around the FC United of Manchester box with ease, eventually the ball falls to Reece James who blazes his shot high over the bar from 25 yards out.

73: Coppinger does really well on the ball to work his way through the FC United defence. He goes up against Doyle but he can’t quite get round him and the ball runs through to Lavercombe in the FC United goal.

76: Chance for the substitute Dan Cockerline as he manages to turn his man on the edge of the box and fire a shot at goal but it is straight at Jones in the Doncaster net.

80: CHANCE! A Doncaster corner is whipped in by Coppinger towards the near post. Okenabirhie wins his header and it rattles against the bar from close range. That was a good chance for the striker to grab himself a brace.

85: Doncaster are keeping the ball very comfortably now and FC United are allowing them without putting too much pressure on the ball.

87: Rare free-kick for FC United but the delivery is headed away comfortably by Anderson.

89: CHANCE! A chance at the end for FC United as Wright is dispossessed and the ball falls to Michael Fowler on the edge of the box, his shot goes just wide.

90: There will be three minutes added on at the end of the second half as Doncaster win a free-kick in a dangerous area. The free-kick is taken by Whiteman as he tries to drill it underneath the wall but they didn’t jump and the ball is eventually cleared.

90+3: FULL-TIME: FC United of Manchester 1-5 Doncaster Rovers. The gap in quality was clear as Doncaster put in a very professional performance against a FC United of Manchester side that were brave and played well.
