12 Chance! Porto moving the ball well around the box with big holes in Atletico’s defence. Taremi should make it 2-0 with a shot at goal just inside the box but the keepers outstretched leg keeps it out.

23 GOAL! 2-0 Porto. A long ball down the left flank sees Galeno beat Savic to the ball and cut it back to Eustaqio who side foots into the bottom left corner. A blistering start from the blue and white.

Half time

Porto much the better team in the first half with Atletico struggling to throw any punches back. Porto’s passing has been crisp and they have been able to break Atletico’s defence down too easily. A big second half needed for Diego Simeone’s men, who will no doubt be giving his team a talking to try and earn their berth into the Europa League.

45 we’re back underway.

47 yellow card for Savic who hacks down Sanusi. Free kick to Porto in a good area.

50 Good delivery into the box for Porto but Atletico head the ball out of danger.

51 Substitution for Porto – Wendel on for the injured Sanusi.

61 two substitutions for Atletico. Yannick Carrasco on for Sau Niguez while Matheus Cunha replaces João Félix.

62 Chance! Evanilson is played in on the edge of the box but his shot is too high over the bar.

67 CONTROVERSY! Atletico have the ball in the back of the net but it is disallowed. VAR checks the decision and deems the on-field decision correct. Both players congest for the ball in what appears to be a fair 50 50 tackle, but Atletico have a free kick given against them. Both Cardoso of Porto and De Paul of Atletico receive yellow cards in the mix up.

80 Evanilson off Toni Martinez on.

82 Constant pressure from Porto. The ‘olays’ are starting from the crowd and Atletico can’t get close to them. Oblak with some standout saves.

90+5 GOAL! own goal from Ivan Marcano right at the death!

Full time – Porto 2-1 Atletico 1

An excellent start and first half display from Porto proved to be too much for Atletico to come back from. Porto could have scored more and should have put the game to bed quicker, but they saw off a late scare from Atletico who are now out of Europe all together.
