Home   /   Erik ten Hag – “Every game we play, there’s only one aim – we have to win.” Manchester United look for revenge as they welcome Aston Villa to Old Trafford this evening.

Following a disappointing 3-1 loss at the hands of tonight’s opponents on Sunday, Erik ten Hag says he “wants a reaction from the team” and needs “better attitude all over the pitch.”

Former Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, described his first five months at the Red Devils as “exciting but difficult” and admits there have been “ups and downs.”

The most recent ‘down’ came at Villa Park on Sunday where he saw his team outplayed by an Aston Villa side who are trying to find their feet under new boss Unai Emery. Ten Hag said “we are not happy with our performance on Sunday. It’s not acceptable, it’s never acceptable.”

The Dutchman made clear his intentions for a different result tonight as he said, “we have to win every game; we take every game seriously” and claimed he will “put the best players we have on the pitch.”

Following his team’s 3-1 victory against United, new Aston Villa boss Unai Emery said, “our challenge is to keep the same performances in the next match. If we will do it, I think we can go one more step ahead.”

The Frenchman also expressed his dreams to “win a trophy with Aston Villa,” and to “play with Villa in Europe.”
