Eastbourne Town vs Alford – 24th October – The Saffrons – celebrating Zac Attwood winner – taken by Samuel Owens

The home side for todays game starts in fourth place after winning three games on the bounce. The traveling side today come into the game after losing their last game 5-1 to Crawley Down Gatwick and they are currently in tenth place. Eastbourne will be without their players Brad Pritchard as he sprained his ankle in the last game.

Here is both squads for todays game today.

Kick off: Alford kicks the game off today.

2 min: Eastbourne put a long ball over the heads of the Alford defenders with the goalkeeper Luis Correia was able to clear the ball however, he was unable to kick the ball cleanly.

4 min: Early on in the game Alford is having a lot of the ball without creating any chances.

5 min: Kelvin Lewis takes the first shot of the game but drags it horribly wide and the ball goes out for a goal kick.

6 min: First big chance of the with Nathan Crabb picking up the ball on the right side of the pitch and was able to cut inside and force a save from Correia to make a save which fell to Zac Attwood who took another shot which saw a save from Correia again. Attwood should have scored the rebound but credit to Correia being able to make the double save.

8 min: Crabb had another chance for Eastbourne with Matt Astle putting in a good cross the right hand side but Crabb was able to finish the chance for his side.

12 min: Astle is getting a lot of the ball in the opening minutes in the game at right back.

14 min: Sam Leaton was able to get a shot off for Alford with Dan Hull able clear the ball with the Eastbourne keeper stranded in the goal. Best chance so far for Alford.

19 min: Both teams have been sharing the ball but they have not been creating a lot of chances in the last few minutes.

22 min: There has been a break in the game with Clyde Jacques down with a knock but he seems to be ok and will carry on.

26 min: Twice in quick succession Crabb with running towards goal with the ball until an Alford defender came in with a slide tackle to deny Crabb with a chance of scoring.

29 min: Substitution for Alford with Jordon Mase coming off due to injury with Tiago Andrade replacing him.

30 min: Attwood was able to make a good run down the right hand side of the pitch but was able to get a shot off with Correia is able to smoother the ball.

33 min: Leaton was able to get a shot off from a short free kick which resulted in a good save from Chris Winterton.

35 min: Attwood had the best chance of the game with a one on one which was saved by Correia. Both teams have had their best chances of the game in the last few minutes.

38 min: Another one on one for Eastbourne with Crabb through on goal this time but was unable to finish the chance with another save for Correia

39 min: Eastbourne defender Hull almost scored a own but his goal keeper, Winterton, was able to make a very good save.

42 min: Alford had a free kick on the edge of the area after a foul from the Eastbourne captain, Simon Johnson, the free kick was taken and drilled into the wall Connor Wilford.

Half time between Eastbourne Town FC vs Alford FC and it is still goalless. Eastbourne has had more of the chances in the game with Attwood and Crabb having chances without being able to finish it. Alford having a few chances as well it’s safe to say the best player for both teams is the goalkeepers.

Eastbourne FC kick off the second half with one substitution for Alford FC with Kieron Joseph on for Clyde Jacques.

50 min: Eastbourne has been dominating the possession early in the second half.

51 min: Hull has just made a last ditch challenge on Leaton to stop the Alford forward with a chance of scoring.

54 min: YELLOW CARD: first yellow card of the game goes to Mutongerwa for Alford for persistently fouling throughout the game.

56 min: Chilsworth gives away a free kick outside the box which was easily caught by the Eastbourne keeper who is having a good game today he has made sure the ball has not gone in his net.

58 min: The game has been heating up in the second half with the referee having to give a lot of free kicks in quick succession.

60 min: The first corner in the second half was in Eastbourne’s favour which resulted with the ball going past all the players in the box. Correia came out and tried to punch the ball but missed which could have lead to a opportunity for Eastbourne.

65 min: Last few minutes and been quite scrappy which haven’t resulted in any chances for both teams.

68 min: Clearance off the line for Alford from Chilsworth after a shot from Leaton

73 min: SUBSTITUTION for Eastbourne with Tom Vickers and Nathan Crabb have came off with Matt Rodrigues-Barbosa and Tom McDonald coming on.

74 min: Chance for Kelvin Lucas taking a low driven shot for Alford which resulted with a save for Winterton

78 min: Correia has turned into a bit of a sweeper keeper in the last few minutes for Alford after Eastbourne have sent a lot of long ball in the last few minutes.

80 min: Great save from Correia in goal who has had a fantastic game today who was able to pull off a brilliant save from Taggart

85 min: Good run from Chilsworth for Eastbourne and he crossed it in for McDonald who was unable to control the ball.

89 min: GOAL: Eastbourne have surely got a winner with McDonald doing got work with the ball and was able to find Attwood and he was able to place the ball in the bottom.

92 min: Last chance for Alford with a free kick the Goalkeeper has gone up to try and get a equaliser.

Full time: The right team won in the game today with the late goal for Attwood. Eastbourne has now moved up to third in the table. The Alford manager got a red card after the game for shouting at the referee, bit confusing because the referee didn’t have much impact on the game. Both keepers can be happy with there performance in the game both made big saves throughout.

Alford clearly not happy with the referee for todays game,
