Home   /   Dulwich Hamlet 3-0 Bath City – As it happened

Welcome along to Champion Hill in South London as they take on Bath City. I’m Joe Zelinger and I will be talking you through this afternoon’s game.

Hamlet are going well this season so far, in mid table but with a chance to go into the play-offs with a win today, which is far better than their form of the last couple of seasons where they’ve been dangerously close to the relegation zone. Bath on the other hand are struggling for form and sit 17th in the table, although they ended a run of four successive defeats in all competitions last time out. Will they build on last week’s win today?

The teams are out to warm up.

Peter Crouch is here for today’s game after becoming a director at the club. He aims to help Dulwich from financial ruin, returning to the club after playing for them over 20 years ago.

Today’s line ups are out.

It is absolutely rammed in here today. I’ve heard just as we’re about to kick off people are still queuing outside. Must be a sell out.

The teams are out to observe a minute’s silence along with the last post ahead of kick off.

KICK OFF: Dulwich Hamlet 0-0 Bath City

Early throw in by Hamlet’s corner flag for Bath won by Joe Raynes. He goes for a long throw into the box but Taylor for the home side is fouled.

Good defending from Green for Hamlet to stop Delaney getting past him to put a cross in on the left.

Another corner for Hamlet to bring the half to a close. It’s glanced on but into Clarke’s hands.

HALF-TIME: Dulwich Hamlet 1-0 Bath City

Strong half from Dulwich and as it stands they’re in the play-offs. Bath looked lively in the opening ten minutes but they’ve been quiet since and Dulwich have gone from strength to strength. They’ll hope they can add a goal or two more in the second half to make sure of the points.

Good choice of food on offer at Champion Hill this afternoon.

The teams are emerging from the tunnel and we’re about to get back underway. Can Dulwich finish the job?

Good flick on from Mills for McQueen and he’s dragged down. The crowd shout for a freekick but nothing is given.

58 mins: Dulwich Hamlet 2-0 Bath City

Blackman takes on his man down the left, he gets in behind but when he’s about to cross he seems to be brought down. The referee however, shows a yellow card to the Dulwich man for simulation. It did look as though he could of stayed on his feet there, but there was definitely some contact from the Bath defender.

61 mins: Dulwich Hamlet 2-0 Bath City

McQueen is set free on the wing by a brilliant ball over the top from Timlin. He attacks his man and wins a corner, but it is cleared.

Meanwhile, Lloyd James replaces Josh Owers for Bath.

It’s all Hamlet in the second period. Bath haven’t given the home side any problems.

So close to four. And it should of been. Vint misses a sitter with his head after another good ball in from a freekick from McGregor.

I’ve barely mentioned any Bath players in this half. They’ve been so short of ideas.

McQueen is now off for James Dayton.

85 mins: Dulwich Hamlet 3-0 Bath City

CLOSE: This game could of been seven or eight. A lucky deflection off Dayton when Bath attempted a clearance puts Green through. He takes it around Clarke but his shot is scuffed and blocked on the line!

90 Mins: Dulwich Hamlet 3-0 Bath City

Dulwich just seeing this game out now. Very professional performance from them today. Bath want to go home.

Bath have it on the right but Vint comes in and boots it out of the ground. Making sure.

FULL-TIME: Dulwich Hamlet 3-0 Bath City

A perfect day for Hamlet. A win, clean sheet and now into the play offs. Once they got in front it was really only going to go one way today, and fantastic performances from McQueen, Green and McGregor to name a few helped them to win this game with ease. Bath had spells of possession in the first half and even looked capable of scoring at one stage, but after the half way mark offered nothing. They’ll need to improve if they are to avoid a relegation battle this season.

Really good performance and atmosphere at Dulwich today. It really is a special club and I have loved being at the game this afternoon and describing the action for you. Cheers.
