Brighton 4- 2 Worthing

True marksmanship from Brighton Striker, Lorent Tolaj, lead Brighton & Hove Albion to a stellar win over Hinshelwood’s 13-time winners Worthing in The Sussex senior Challenge Cup final. The Amex stadium located on the Brighton coast held the occasion. A feisty start from both teams set the tone for the evening with both Worthing and Brighton registering 21 fouls between them throughout the 90 minutes including a Red for Pattenden late on. Flying challenges had referee Dan Austin under the cosh from minute one. A clinical finish from the spot provided by Oliver Pearce gave Worthing the lead in the 23rd minute. However just 8 minutes later Brighton returned fire through Lorent Tolaj bringing Brighton level with the unintentional visitors in the 31st minute. 9 minutes later Tolaj found the net again after splitting the two Worthing defenders in half and hammering home from close range. more of the same followed from Brighton as Peupion and Moran both tapped home from close range in the 60th and 64th minute. Despite the win for Brighton, the game brimmed full of missed chances leaving Worthing striking 13 times and Brighton 12 ; the only difference Brighton proved more clinical when required. Golding came on at half time for defender Seager in a clear attacking approach for trailing Worthing. Despite this nothing came of any substance after going behind for the newly crowned Isthmian league premier division champions; apart from a consolation strike from Joel Colbran late on.
