Home   /   Luis Enrique delivered an update of Jose Gaya’s injury

The Spanish left-back clashed his head dangerously with Hans Hateboer in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw against Netherlands. Gaya’s head was bleeding after the collision and he left the pitch before the break.

Netherlands suffered an injury as well, when Nathan Ake pulled out his hamstring after five minutes.

Enrique is ready to call another player into the squad, if Gaya remains unavailable.

Spain’s manager confirmed to Marca:

“The collision was quite powerful. We are going to talk to the doctors. We are not ruling out calling another player.”

Sergio Canales’s first international goal was the highlight for Spain, but it was cancelled out by Donny van de Beek’s powerful finish.

It has been a rough start for Frank de Boer as the Netherlands manager. Ronald Koeman’s follower is desperately searching his first win on board.

Netherlands have drawn three and lost one of de Boer’s four games on charge.

The Dutch manager hopes the hunt will finally end on Sunday against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

De Boer told Dutch News:

“Of course I’d like to get my first win, but let’s do it against Bosnia.”
