As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Brazilian winger Raphinha has decided to join Chelsea whilst turning down Arsenal and Spurs in the process. The official bid from Todd Boehly is between £60-65 million with add ons included. As well as the London clubs it was Barcelona who were keen admirers but due to their financial situation a deal always looked unlikely. All that is required is for the player and club to agree on personal terms in which his agent Deco, (former Chelsea midfielder) can negotiate with the club. This comes as Chelsea looked imminent to send a new and improved bid to Manchester City in their pursuit of Raheem Sterling, however Thomas Tuchel is keen to bring in another winger to join Raphinha so the Sterling deal is still on.
Raphinha will no doubt bring his Brazilian flair with him along with his determination to go past and beat a man in what is looking like a dangerous attack for Chelsea for the up and coming season. Across two seasons the Leeds winger has scored 17 goals, in which 11 were from last season helping them massively last season to beat the drop and maintain their Premier League status.
Chelsea still have work to do in the transfer market however as they look to replace the likes of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen who both left for free at the end of the season, Matthijs de Ligt is looking like one of the potential suiters to fill one of the gaps left. Juventus however are demanding in excess of £100 million to lure away their Dutch defender. Jules Kounde had been a target from even last season but speculation surrounding him seemed to have died down over recent weeks causing The Blues to look elsewhere, not to say they won’t go back in for the Frenchmen.
