Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed the injury boosts of star player Paulo Dybala, captain Giorgio Chiellini and winger Federico Bernadeschi as they will return for the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie against Villarreal.

The trio missed the 1-1 first-leg draw at the Estadio de la Cerámica when Dani Parejo matched Dusan Vlahovic’s early UCL debut goal for Juve.

Dybala and Chiellini suffered injuries and remained on the sidelines for over a month but will be back to action tonight.

“Chiellini, Dybala and Bernardeschi return. Hopefully, we’ll win in 90 minutes. Otherwise, we’ll need extra time. Substitutions will be important,” Allegri said at a press conference.

Meanwhile, Villarreal may have to go into the second leg without talisman Gerard Moreno. The Spanish international is being assessed after he has been out since early February with a calf injury.

Manager Unai Emery is eager to rebuild Villarreal into a Champions League team after leading them to a Europa League final triumph over Manchester United last season, his fourth in the competition.

“Winning against a club like Juventus means the opportunity to keep competing at the European level. We want to build around defined structures so we can stay here long-term… It’s wonderful to be in the Champions League and we don’t want to leave,” he said.

We don’t want Villarreal to be something ephemeral in the Champions League, we want to be here to stay.”
