Home   /   Dover Dominant in win over Lewes

Dover continued their domination of the Isthmian Premier League with an emphatic 3-1 win over Lewes at the Dripping Pan.

Dover are now unbeaten in six games after this win and sit five points clear of Cray Valley in 2nd, and are 20 goals better off. Lewes have now lost two on the bounce, and slip to seventh.

A 15-minute delay to kick off did little to dent Dover’s confidence as they were the better side from the off. Geroge Nikaj headed Dover in front after eight mins and four minutes later, Ruben Soares-Junior made it 2-0, when the Whites countered after a Lewes corner.

Dover scored a third after Luke Baptiste was brought down by goalkeeper Toby Bull in the Lewes penalty area and was lucky not to get a yellow card for the challenge. Baptiste stepped up and slotted the penalty away to make it 3-0 to Dover, despite Bull getting a hand to it.

The second half started better for Lewes, and on 59 minutes, Captain Danny Bassett scored after Ladapo had a shot saved by Walker in the Dover goal to make it 1-3, but it was only a consolation as Dover ran out winners in the end.
