Home   /   Dover demolition at the Dripping Pan

On a rainy Tuesday night at the Dripping Pan, Dover Athletic put three past Lewes to maintain their title run.

From the opening whistle, Dover came out the gates with a point to prove. The Whites took an early lead, opening the score line in the eighth minute. George Nikaj found the back of the net, with a cross from Ruben Soares-Junior, putting Dover one up. Four minutes later, Soares-Junior added to his contributions with a lovely strike.

Dover showed the Dripping Pan exactly why they’re top of the table, with a dominate performance throughout the whole game. Luke Baptiste put Lewes’ comeback hopes to bed in the 39th minute, converting from the spot.

Lewes put up a fight in the second half, giving their fans something to cheer for, but their efforts came to a sour end. Captain Danny Bassett managed to pull one back for the home side but couldn’t inflict any more damage on the league leaders.

Lewes drop to seventh in the table, as Dover continue their impressive run, finding themselves with a five-point cushion at the top. Lewes, with only one win in their last five games, turn their attention to their clash with Canvey next week.
