Jens Petter Hauge was the hero for Bodø/Glimt, scoring a brace in a 3-2 home victory against FC Porto in the first night of Europa League action.

Bodø/Glimt had two early chances in the first five minutes, but the 1st goal was scored by Porto through a header from in-form new signing Samu Omorodion.

Porto’s lead did not last long as a beautiful cross field pass from Hauge led to a clinical equaliser by Kasper Høgh.

With half time looming, Hauge gave Bodø/Glimt a 2-1 lead with a low, driving shot from just outside the box set up by good hold up play from the captain Ulrik Saltnes.

Early in the second half, the home side were reduced to ten men with Isak Määttä receiving a second yellow card for simulation.

Despite this, Bodø/Glimt were able to score a 3rd goal courtesy of Hauge’s second for the match as he found himself in some space, cut in onto his right foot and fired a shot into the right corner.

Porto pegged a goal back late on through substitute Deniz Gül but the Norwegian side were able to hold on in stoppage time and come away with the victory.
