A fantastic first half has propelled Dover to a 3-1 victory over Lewes FC in their Isthmian League Premier Division clash at the Dripping Pan.

Dover quickly set the tone in the 8th minute when a cross from Ruben Soares-Junior found Goerge Nikaj in the box who finished with a header.

Soares-Junior was involved again only a few minutes later, this time scoring the goal to finish off a swift counter attack and double The Whites’ lead.

The visitors continued to control the match and by the 38th minute they were in complete control of the scoreboard as well when Lewes Goalkeeper Toby Bull brought down Luke Baptiste in the box.

Baptiste stepped up to take the penalty and, even though Bull got his fingers to it, he had enough power to find the bottom right corner.

Lewes showed signs of a pulse in the 60th minute when captain Danny Bassett scored off a rebound.

Ultimately however, this pulse was never followed by a genuine heartbeat as Dover comfortably came away with a 3-1 win.

This result puts The Whites five points clear of Cray Valley who they face next in a top of the table clash on Saturday.
