The Grammys 2020: The Highlights and Winners

On Sunday 26 January saw the return of the Grammys 2020, with emotional speeches and spectacular performances.

The ceremony opened with an emotional tribute by Alicia Keys and Boyz ll Men for legendary basketball player Kobe Bryant who passed away that weekend in a helicopter crash. throughout the ceremony, there were tributes from all artists who accepted awards and from the hosts as well.

American pop artist, Ariana Grande also returned this year to perform after cancelling her appearance last year due to disagreements with organisers. She performed a mix of her hit songs from her latest album Thank U, Next which was released in February last year.

The big winner of the night was Billie Eilish, who won five awards including Song Of The Year, Best New Artist, Record Of The Year and Album Of The Year. The 18-year-old is the youngest ever recipient of Album of the Year at the Grammys.

Kpop group BTS also attended the awards and performed with Lil Nas X for ‘Old Town Road’. The group made history by becoming the first Korean group to perform at the awards.
