Serge Ibaka and Marquese Chriss ejected following NBA brawl

Serge Ibaka and Marquese Chriss were involved in a feisty clash that saw punches thrown in the NBA showdown between Toronto Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers.

As the pair contested for the ball at the end of the third quarter, Ibaka was sent crashing to the floor by Chriss, which sparked an angry reaction from the Raptors forward.

Ibaka reacted furiously by grabbing Chriss round the throat from behind, which led to several punches being exchanged and both being ejected to the locker room.

At first Chriss did not react to the words exchanged at the base of the hoop while officials and team-mates tried to drag the pair apart.

The match finished with Cavaliers coming out victorious (126-101) over Raptors with Colin Sexton scoring 28 points and Kevin Love contributing 16 points and 18 rebounds.

Ibaka will undoubtedly face disciplinary action and is expected to miss Raptors’ next two matches against LA Lakers and New York Knicks.

Ibaka’s team-mate Kawhi Leonard spoke about the incident but claims he did not get the best view of the fight.

“I guess they got tangled up,” Leonard said.”‘Can’t really make a comment on how or why they got into a fist-fight, but I guess both guys were competing.”
