Salah wants Premier League over Champions League

By Frankie Levin

Mohamed Salah has confessed he is willing to sacrifice his dream of winning the Champions League for the Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp’s side travel to Germany this Wednesday for the second leg of their round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich after a goalless draw at Anfield in the first leg.

Salah admitted that winning the Champions League would be a dream come true, but he is willing to give that dream up if it means winning the Premier League. He told Sky Sports: “I will be honest with you, the most prestigious competition for me is the Champions League.

“But the dream for the entire city and the club is the league.

“So I am happy to sacrifice my dream for their dream but if we win both that would be great and this is what we are trying to do.”

The Egyptian forward is hopeful that league leaders Manchester City will slip up, and he is ready to capitalise. He said: “The competition is very tough and we have difficult games left as do they.

“All you can do is win your games and hopefully they will fail in one so we can win the title.

“My mind is sharp and there is pressure but I am strong mentally and we just have to keep going.”
