Wake-up call for Rhinos

Wakefield maintained top spot in the Engage Super League and heaped yet more misery on their West Yorkshire rivals Leeds with a 28-18 win.

Leeds came to Hearwell Stadium eager to get back on track following their shock defeat to Castleford last time out, but up against an impressive looking Wakefield side, who have now won all three of their opening fixtures, it took them too long to get going.

Wakefield were full value for their eight-point lead at the interval with Sean Gleeson and Ben Jeffries both going over.

A converted score from Danny McGuire kept Leeds within touching distance, but a length-of-the-field try from Danny Brough and a Daryl Millard score after the break proved just enough to see off the champions.
