Preview: Valencia v Lille

Prediction: Valencia 1-2 Lille 

Lille grabbed their first point in their Champions League group in the reverse fixture thanks to a 95th minute equaliser from Jonathan Ikone. Valencia haven’t won since match-day one when they beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Valencia have been very inconsistent since that win and have conceded in their last six and were humbled 3-0 at home by Ajax. Lille are showing they’re not missing Nicolas Pepe to much as they sit fifth in Ligue 1 looking to push for those European spots once again.  

Team News: 

Valencia have numerous injury problems at the moment. Cristiano Piccini, Goncalo Guedes, Kevin Gameiro, Carlos Soler and Francis Coquelin are all out injured. They will also be without Mouctar Diakhaby who is suspended. 

Renato Sanches is out with a hamstring injury for Lille and Timothy Weah is a doubt with a leg injury.  

Key Players: 

Daniel Parejo – The veteran midfielder has netted six times in the league and has also assisted twice. 

Victor Osimhen – Early season form saw the Nigerian win Player of the month, he has seven goals and two assists so far but hasn’t contributed in his last four competitive fixtures for Lille.
