Following the recent release of their album, Our Pleasure, the no-frills-attached notorious Canadian four-piece punk rock band Single Mothers hit the Green Door Store in Brighton as part of their UK/Europe tour.

Alongside a hatred for the basic and simpletons, the band has a longing for a new world with no care for anyone or anything material or capitalist with little narrative to convey these dislikes. Their songs are drowned in feedback supporting their lack of care towards their aesthetic and represent an almost modern-day Friedrich Nietzsche with a mild education and strong dislike for consumerism.

Due to tour in the early new year with Enter Shikari and MILK TEETH, I am enthusiastic that their set will consist of songs from their critically acclaimed albums ‘Negative Qualities’ and ‘Self Titled’.

The band claim that this might “quite possibly the last time [they’re] ever going to buy plane tickets to play somewhere…”  Whether you’re a full-blown fan or simply an advocate of noise, head on over for one of the best stage presence gigs of the year.

This is not one you want to miss!
