Pier Jam 2017 Review

Pier Jam returned for its second year on Hastings Pier after a successful event last September. This year, the artists and DJs at the festival included Gorgon City who have recently played at larger festivals this summer at Glastonbury and Wild Life.

Walking towards Hastings pier we were pleasantly surprised when we heard the tunes already flowing and the setup of a mini festival.

The first three amazing sets came from Brian Murphy, Just Jorge and George Kafetzis. The line-up then continued with Redlight, a well-known DJ, and the crowd loved their hit ‘Get Out My Head’.  Redlight was followed by Amine Edge & Dance who were just as good.

As the sun set, the legends Gorgon City headlined Pier Jam 2017 with hits including ‘Ready For Your Love’, ‘Unmissable’ and ‘Coming Home’. However, their lively performance was cut short as they began the song they are most known for; ‘Go All Night’. The crowd went wild and started chanting “one more song” and even Gorgon City started joining in as they were just as shocked that their last song got cut. The organisers were having none of it and stood their ground as it was 11:01 PM but the set was still unforgettable in the best way.

The over 18’s event had a no cash bar where you had to purchase tokens from a separate part of the festival which ended up working really well as the bar queues were kept short.

Festival-goers are already looking forward to Pier Jam Part 2 which takes place on 2 September 2017 and tickets are available to buy here:

Pier Jam 2017 was amazing and the festival being on the pier just added to the experience. See you at Pier Jam Part 2!
