Ozil Excluded From United Clash

Mesut Ozil to be left out of the Arsenal squad to face Manchester United tonight with rumours that he will leave on loan in January.

According to respected Arsenal Twitter account, @TheAFCnewsroom, it is believed that five-time German player of the year and member of the Arsenal leadership team appointed by manager Unai Emery will not even be in the travelling squad to Manchester.

Reports broke last night that Arsenal are looking to loan out Ozil in the January window, even if they have to subsidise the 30-year-olds wages.

The creative midfielder, who failed to make the squad for Arsenal’s first three Premier League games, has only featured in the league once when he started against Watford which saw the North London side crumble to a 2-2 draw.

Having also featured in Arsenal’s emphatic 5-0 victory in the week against Nottingham Forest, Ozil is yet to register a goal contribution this season.

It has been well documented the supposed lack of trust Emery has displayed in Ozil which has left the superstar disgruntled.

The Gunner’s highest-paid player only started 28 games in all competitions for Emery last season, providing a sub-par six goals and four assists all season with his performances constantly coming under scrutiny.

In recent games the ex-German international has been overlooked by Arsenal academy graduates Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson as well as the extraordinary emerging 18-year-old talent, Bukayo Saka, who scored once and assisted twice in his first start of the season away to Eintracht Frankfurt.
