Newsweek Autumn 2017: Life of Freelance Photographers

For the first time in Newsweek history, the editorial team created the positions of freelance photographers, which have been assumed by Matt Penn and Sammy Brough.

The pair, both Sport Journalism third-years, have been travelling around the South Coast all week, in search of pictures to supplement a whole range of stories for the magazine; from a first-hand account of life on Hastings’ streets, to snapping some shots of a local golf course.

The front page lead was also a shot captured by the pair, and they highlight how this experience has been “massively important” for them.
