Match Preview: Eibar vs Real Madrid

By Joni Ahokas

Third-placed Real Madrid will look to go top of the league. Los Blancos will travel on Saturday to face 14th place Eibar.

Home team Eibar are looking to get their first win in their last three games against Madrid. The club beat Madrid in 2018 on their last home meeting with a surprising 3-0 score.

Madrid lost points on the last round of fixtures, after Zinedine Zidane’s men drew 0-0 against Real Betis. Barcelona are leading the league with a better goal difference.

Match Stats

– 18-year old Rodrygo Goes became in the midweek 6-0 win against Galatasaray the youngest Brazilian to score a hat trick in the Champions League.

– Eibar are just three points off top eight and six points clear of relegation zone

– Eden Hazard is still struggling with his form. The Belgian winger has scored just once in 10 games for Madrid

With Madrid, Marco Asensio and Nacho Fernandez are out with long-term knee injuries. Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez are believed to be also out of contention.
