Match Preview: Bayern Munich vs Borussia Dortmund

By Samuel Brady

Manager-less Bayern Munich welcome Borussia Dortmund to the Allianz Arena for ‘Der Klassiker’ in the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.

Bayern enter the game following their uninspiring mid-week victory over Olympiakos in the Champions League whilst Dortmund came from behind to beat Inter Milan 3-2.

Dortmund will enter the game as favourites as they currently sit 2nd in the Bundesliga which with a win could see them go top dependent on other results. Bayern, however, has struggled so far this season which saw the dismissal of Niko Kovac earlier on this week with the side currently occupying 4th. The Bavarians will be hoping to defeat their arch-rivals in order to kick start a run of form.

Match Stats

· Bayern have won their previous five home meetings with Dortmund.

· Robert Lewandowski has made history by becoming the first ever Bundesliga player to score a goal on each of the first 10 matchdays having already scored 14 this campaign.

· Dortmund haven’t won in Munich since April 2014 under Jurgen Klopp.
