Match Preview: Barcelona v Celta Vigo

FC Barcelona will look to bounce back to winning ways on Saturday in La Liga, when Celta Vigo arrives to Camp Nou. The Catalonians suffered a 3-1 loss away against Levante, conceding three goals in the second half. 

The lost was Barca’s third in 11 League matches. The defending champions still leads La Liga on goal difference. 

18th placed Celta Vigo have suffered four straight losses. The club changed their manager this week, when Fran Escriba was replaced by Oscar Garcia. The new head coach played for Barcelona in his playing career. 

Celta beat Barcelona in the previous fixture in May with 2-0. 

Match Stats 

– Celta has a problem scoring. Only managed one goal in the last four games 

– Celta’s star forward Iago Aspas has scored six goals in his nine games against Barca, but the Spanish marksman has scored just once at Camp Nou 

Team News 

Luis Suarez suffered a calf injury against Levante, but he may return early to play on Saturday. Barcelona´s manager Ernesto Valverde revealed on Thursday that the Uruguayan striker’s injury was less serious, than what they expected. 

Left back Jordi Alba will miss the game after suffering a hamstring injury midweek in the Champions League fixture against Slavia Prague. 

Celta will be without injured Santi Mina and Rafinha, who is loaned out from Barcelona and will be unavailable for selection.
